Space Pirate Captain Harlock Animation Cel Production Art Vintage Anime 70’s I10

This original hand-painted production setup—featuring a hand-painted character animation cel paired with a matching painted background—comes from the classic 1978 television series Space Pirate Captain Harlock (Uchū Kaizoku Kyaputen Hārokku). This specific shot captures the poignant relationship between the space outlaw Captain Harlock and Mayu Oyama, the young, blue-haired daughter of his deceased best friend, Tochiro Oyama. Because of his deep bond with Tochiro, Harlock acts as her fierce interstellar guardian, frequently visiting Earth or venturing to the ends of the universe to protect her from the Earth Federation and the invading Mazon.
